I’m so thrilled to announce that it is official! I am now a USA Today Bestselling Author!

Here is the screenshot of this week’s listing where a team of authors and I worked together to make our dream a reality. We each published a book in a collective boxed set called “Cursed Lands” and earned enough sales to rank in the top 150 bestselling books in the United States for the week of May 5th, 2019.

How does USA Today compile their weekly bestselling books list?

The major retailers (Amazon, Kobo, iBooks, and Barnes & Noble) report weekly book sales to USA Today made in the United States alone. Those numbers are added together and the books with the most sales are organized from a rank of 1-150 on the weekly bestselling list for the entire country.

How many books need to be sold to hit the list?

I won’t divulge trade secrets, but I will say that it takes THOUSANDS of sales in a SINGLE week to compete with all the books in the United States!

What is the benefit of hitting the list?

Everyone has different goals and values attributed to hitting a list like USA Today. One major benefit is that an author can call themselves a “USA Today Bestselling Author” which is a prestigious title that can be used in their biographies as well as a title above their name on book covers. For many, it’s just a dream. And for me, it’s a dream come true! I’m having my book covers converted as we speak so that I can get them updated on retailers to display this new title loud and proud!

There are other benefits as well that I won’t go into in detail (more trade secrets, ha!) but it has to do with new opportunities that are opened up by hitting a bestselling list like this. I am always looking for new ways to expand my business and this will open doors for me that were not open before!
